Our Curing Process

These soaps bars are BIG!

Our handcrafted soap is made in small batches using a cold process.. We select the highest quality pure oils from around the world, such as olive oil ,coconut oil , avocado oil , sweet almond oil, hemp oil, palm kernel oil, jojoba oil, and soy oil. We also use rich butters and other rich oils to enhance the moisturizing capabilities of the soap, butters and oils like cocoa butter, shea butter mango butter, honey, aloe vera, castor oil, lanolin oil, Essential oils, natural herbs, safe fragrance oils add to the soap's fragrance. Natural herb powders, herbs and clays add color to our soap; and botanicals, and other natural ingredients add texture and exfoliants. Our handcrafted soap are also made with such things as oatmeal, sliced almonds , rosemary leaves, lavender leaves and buds, and other goodies that provide light, gentle exfoliation for your skin. Most of our handcrafted soaps are enriched with additional oils that are suspended in the soap and applied directly to the skin while bathing, providing even more moisturization.

They are hand poured and cut, so weight and shape may vary!

Cold Process soap needs to slowly "cure" over time.

We allow our soaps to naturally air cure for six to ten weeks.

During the first two weeks of curing, the saponification process is completed.

"Saponification is the chemical reaction that occurs when fats or oils (fatty acids) come into contact with lye (a base.) Saponification literally means "soap making" from the root word, "sapo", which is Latin for soap. The by-products of the saponification reaction are glycerin and soap."

As the soap continues to cure, most of the water used in the recipe evaporates.

The curing process insures a milder, harder, longer lasting bar, with rich lather.
